Zigong Aviation Industrial Park attracts investment projects

A total of nine projects were signed during the 2019 Zigong Aviation Industrial Park Investment Attraction Conference in Chengdu City, capital of Sichuan Province, on February 25.


With a total investment of 6.55 billion yuan, the nine projects are expected to create 4,000 job opportunities and have an annual production value of 15 billion yuan.

Among the nine projects, S.F. Express Large-scale Logistics Drone Southern Sichuan Operation Base occupies an area of five hectares and will have an investment of 1.65 billion yuan.

It plans to launch drone air services connecting Zigong with cities in western Sichuan and provinces or municipalities like Yunnan, Chongqing and Guizhou within five years. A large-scale aviation logistics center will be built based on the current Zigong Fengming Airport.

The city of Zigong has been developing its aviation industry by deepening cooperation with large corporations in China, the U.S., the Czech Republic and some other countries over the past years, according to Tang Jie, a member of CPC Zigong Municipal Standing Committee and director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zigong Municipal Committee, who spoke at the conference.


Zigong Aviation Industrial Park has so far signed 41 projects and 11 of them have been launched, he added.

Huang Jin, secretary of CPC Gongjing District Committee in Zigong, and secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Zigong Aviation Industrial Park, said the facility had been approved as a provincial-level development area.


It was now taking shape and had maintained good growth momentum over the past few years. In the future, it would expand on the basis of a new development plan covering an area of 66.6 square kilometers, including a core airport area, a development reserve area, an aviation and gas turbine development area, a manufacturing and flight experience area, an aviation logistics area, an aviation cultural education base, etc., Huang added.

Meanwhile, Zigong has accelerated infrastructure construction such as railways, land ports and comprehensive bonded areas so as to enhance the southward opening-up in Sichuan Province.
