The 10th Zigong Cuisine Gourmet Festival concluded on March 4. A total of 10 local restaurants were honored as the Top 10 Most Popular Zigong Cuisine Stores. Zigong cuisine, also called Yanbang cuisine, has a long history and was mainly developed by salt traders in the city.
The festival sponsored by the Zigong Municipal Bureau of Commerce opened on January 25. A total of 253 local restaurants took part in the selection activity featuring popular Zigong cuisine stores via online and offline means.
The city of Zigong was honored as the "hometown of Yanbang cuisine in China" on February 28. Zigong cuisine has become a pillar of the city’s food industry, expected to be enhanced through integration of food and tourism in the future.
