Da'an district listed as candidate for the 'Renowned Tourism Counties in Sichuan'

Da'an district in Zigong City was listed as a candidate for the first batch of "Renowned Tourism Counties in Sichuan province", according to the Sichuan Provincial Cultural and Tourism Industry Leadership Team Office on March 21.


Located in the northeastern part of Zigong City, Da’an district is a traditional industrial base, agricultural products supply base and popular tourism area.

The district is also the main area for cultural and tourism integration and development in Zigong City. The Shenhai Well in the district featuring salt production in ancient times is listed as a National 4A Scenic Spot. The Zigong Dinosaur Museum is renowned for its unearthed dinosaur fossils in Zigong, which date back to the Jurassic period, about 135 million to 210 million years ago. In addition, more attractions like the FANTA Wild Dinosaur Park and the China Lantern World are now being constructed in the district.

107 applicant counties across the province underwent a strict selection process, and 40 counties were selected as "Renowned Tourism Counties in Sichuan" candidates.
