Vegetable oil processing project launched in Zigong

A vegetable oil processing project was launched for pilot production at Southwest China (Zigong) Dry Port in Zigong City on June 11.


"The project is expected to process 1500 tons of soybeans and produce 300 tons of edible oil and 1200 tons of soybean meal every day during the pilot production period," according to the spokesman for the project.

"A total of 60 containers of soybeans are transported from Fangcheng Port in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region every day, and the project is expected to become the edible oil production center in Sichuan and Chongqing region," he added.

The annual output value of the project is expected to reach 5 billion yuan after its full operation.
