The Chen Family Ancestral Hall in Yantan District, Zigong City, opened its doors to the public on August 1.
Located at the Xianshi Ancient Town, the Chen Family Ancestral Hall has an exhibition area of about 1,000 square meters. It boasts some 100 exhibits, including cultural relics like the pedigree of families, letters, ink slabs and brush pots from the Qing Dynasty, distinctive handicrafts in Zigong and engraving works in Yantan.
The Chen Family Ancestral Hall was renovated to display good family traditions in Zigong since ancient times. There are seven exhibition halls with different themes such as the lives of the salt businessmen, the revolutionary spirit, clean governance and others. The exhibits are meant to give visitors an overview of traditional family instructions, regional family rules, and modern models of loyalty and filial piety in Zigong.
