Zigong receives 1.84 million tourists during the National Day holiday

The city of Zigong in Sichuan Province received 1.84 million tourists during the seven-day National Day holiday from October 1 to 7. This brought in a total tourism revenue of 712 million yuan, according to the Zigong Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau on October 8.

A total of 21 festive activities featuring the main National Day celebration, traditional culture, and local customs were held during the holiday. In addition, eight sideline activities of the 2019 Sichuan International Tourism Festival and the Second Zigong International Dinosaur Lights Festival covering arts, leisure, sightseeing and visiting also took place during the holiday period.

A night sightseeing tour on the Fuxi River in Zigong featuring historical relics and scenic spots on its banks was also open to the public in September and many tourists took part in the activity during the holiday. Rural tourism activities such as hiking, fruit-picking and family gatherings were also popular during the holiday period.
