The city of Zigong in Sichuan Province received 1.14 million tourists during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from October 1 to 8, according to data released by the Zigong Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism on October 8. Tourism-related revenue totaled 623.58 million yuan. A-level tourism scenic spots in the city received 402,600 tourists with ticket proceeds totaling 3.71 million yuan.
During the golden week, some 26 culture and tourism activities were held across the city including flower appreciation, fruit plucking, calligraphy and painting exhibitions and gourmet festivals. Three two-day tourism routes featuring visits to rural areas, scientific popularization, and shopping trips were developed allowing tourists to experience varied aspects of life in Zigong.
Meituan and some other online platforms also offered ticket discounts for scenic spots like the Zigong Dinosaur Museum, the Zigong Salt Industry Museum, the China Lantern Museum, the Shenhai Well, Fuxi River, and so on.
