Lanterns made in Zigong City, Sichuan Province, are on display at the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE), which opens in Shanghai on Nov. 4. A series of four traditional Chinese royal style palace lanterns took 20 Zigong craftsmen three months to make. Each lantern is 2.3 meters high and weighs 400 kilograms. CIIE mascot lanterns were also created to add flavor to the event. As a tradition handed down for generations, lantern production in Zigong is renowned for its distinctive forms of workmanship and art features. [Photo/China.org.cn]
