The 27th Zigong International Dinosaur Lantern Festival opened to the public on Feb. 22 in Zigong, Sichuan province. Due to pandemic control measures, the activity was held online during China's traditional Spring Festival holiday, Feb. 12-17. Themed around "Appreciating Zigong Lanterns, Celebrating Chinese New Year," the lantern festival is being held in a new exhibition area and features a total of 15 disparately themed lantern groups across the 37-hectare park. Those include exhibits focusing on the "100 brilliance of the Chinese Communist Party," "Zigong memories," as well as the Jurassic Period, the salt industry, and water transportation with distinctive Zigong features, among others, showcasing the exquisite craftmanship throughout Chinese culture and traditions. The activities also incorporate performances, cultural products, and gourmet services to offer visitors a more immersive festival experience. [Photo/China.org.cn]
