The city of Zigong, Sichuan province, held an investment attraction fair in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province, on May 19. A total of 12 projects covering the sectors of culture, tourism and equipment manufacturing were signed at the conference, with the investment volume totaling 11.32 billion yuan. Over 100 enterprise and chamber of commerce representatives attended the fair.


Located in the southern wing of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle, Zigong is famous for salt production, dinosaur fossils, lantern production and cuisine, said Zeng Hongyang, mayor of Zigong at the conference. Zigong is now an industry transformation and upgrading demonstration zone of old industrial cities, a state-level cultural export base, and an old industrial city with distinctive history and culture.

Many entrepreneurs expressed their confidence towards Zigong’s development and showed willingness to make investments in multiple sectors.

It is reported that Zigong has been approved to be a state-level foreign trade transformation and upgrading base, a key cold chain logistics base, a civilian unmanned aviation pilot site, a national civilized city and a national healthy city.
