An evening gala was held to commemorate the 101st birthday of Jiang Zhuyun (also known as Sister Jiang, an underground member of the Communist Party of China and revolutionary martyr), in Zigong city, Sichuan province, on August 20. Songs and dances were performed to celebrate CPC centenary and represent scenes of Sister Jiang embroidering a red flag for the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Jiang Zhuyun was born in Zigong and died at the age of 29. Her dauntless spirit and revolutionary will have been treasured by generations of the Chinese people. [Photo/China.org.cn]
