Various tourism activities to kick off in Zigong

During the upcoming week-long National Day holiday, some 30 tourism activities and six distinctive tourism routes will take place under the banner of "Enjoying Comfort in Glamorous Zigong," with ticket coupons issued at many of the city's scenic spots, according to a Sept. 24 news briefing held in Zigong city, Sichuan province.

Zigong has rich cultural and tourism sectors, boasting everything from the home of Jiang Zhuyun – also known as Sister Jiang, an underground member of the Communist Party of China and revolutionary martyr – to a well salt industry, dinosaur fossils, and ancient lantern making traditions.

During the holiday, Zigong Dinosaur Museum, Zigong Salt Industry History Museum and China Lantern Museum will collaborate on educational and tourism activities. Meanwhile, Sichuan opera performances will be staged at the Chen Family Ancestral Hall, and an evening singing competition will take place beside the Fuxi River scenic spot. All told, the National Day celebration will see performances, painting and calligraphy exhibitions held throughout the city.

To help visitors get around town, a total of six tourism routes featuring museums, revolutionary historical sites, fruit picking, a world geological park, ancient towns, gourmet dining and shopping will be promoted during the holiday. Tourists can purchase coupons and enjoy discounts on tickets through various e-platforms and apps like Meituan, Qunar and Ctrip.
