The Recital and Play Show of the 10th Sichuan Province Primary and Middle School Students Art Performance was held in Zigong City, Sichuan province, from Dec. 25 to 26. Jointly sponsored by the Education Department of Sichuan Province and the Zigong Municipal Government, students from 59 schools of 15 cities and prefectures across Sichuan province participated in the event.
Primary school student performers presented programs entitled Hello, Courteous Young Men, Blooming Flowers Facing Towards the Sun, I Like the Color Red, Warriors Charge Forward, Heroine Mu Guiying, Azalea in the Wind, and so on at the theatre of the Sichuan University of Science and Engineering. Five schools from Zigong City took part in the performance and staged two recitation programs and three plays.
Over the past years, the city of Zigong has emphasized fostering virtue through education and progressive reforms in primary and middle schools. As a result, a total of 197 primary and middle schools in the city have won titles of art education demonstration troupes, bases, and schools.
