Photo taken on Feb. 24 shows Zhaohua Ancient Town in Zigong city, Sichuan province. Located on the bank of the Tuo River in Zigong, Zhaohua Ancient Town was once an important station for salt transportation and trade in southern China. The Zhaohua Ancient Town Scenic Spot was appraised as a national 4-A level tourist attraction on Feb. 16, 2022. Its history dates back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and it flourished in Ming and Qing dynasties. The area of ancient architecture totals 240,000 square meters and 70% of the buildings are folk houses built during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. Historical relics like guild halls, pawnshops and inscriptions on cliffs are well preserved. There are seven streets, four lanes, nine palaces, nine temples, and six wharves. Strolling in the ancient town is a good choice for visitors. [Photo/China.org.cn]
