A total of 1,050 people took part in a tree-planting event in Zigong city, Sichuan province, on March 11, with some 2,700 trees planted on the day. Over the past years, the city of Zigong has stepped up returning farmland to forests, preserving natural forests, and organizing voluntary tree planting projects.
