Sichuan New Era Civilization Practice College established in Zigong

The Sichuan New Era Civilization Practice College was established in Zigong city, Sichuan province, on Dec. 9.


Affiliated with the Marxism College of Sichuan University of Science & Engineering, the college was jointly built by the Publicity Department of the Zigong Municipal Party and the university to promote teaching and research of civilization practice and foster volunteers by integrating resources of government departments, universities, volunteers and targeted groups.

During the plate unveiling ceremony, He Li, party secretary of Zigong Municipal Committee, said that there are now seven New Era Civilization Practice Centers (county level), 91 New Era Civilization Practice Institutes (township level), and 987 New Era Civilization Practice Stations (village level), across Zigong and 499,700 registered volunteers and 4,096 volunteer teams.

Being the first college of its kind in Sichuan province, he noted that the college should shoulder the responsibilities of forging mass solidarity, shaping people into responsible citizens with modern habits, hosting cultural activities, and demonstrating the revised image of the masses.
