The China-Laos (Zigong-Vientiane) Railway Express has begun operation from Zigong city, Sichuan province. The freight train, carrying a range of household and mechanical appliances, departed Zigong South Railway Station on Dec. 15 and will arrive in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, four days later.
The 25-container freight train passed through Mohan in Yunnan province and the Boten Special Economic Zone in Laos. The service is expected to help goods produced in Zigong, Chengdu, and Chongqing find new markets in South and Southeast Asia.
