The 3rd Rong County Loquat Tourism Festival commenced in Xinqiao town, Rong County, Zigong City, on May 5. Various loquat picking and tasting activities are scheduled in the coming months, as announced during the opening ceremony.
In recent years, livestream e-commerce has played a crucial role in boosting loquat sales in the town and will continue to be promoted.
Additionally, a doctoral working station affiliated with Sichuan Agricultural University was also unveiled during the opening ceremony to bolster talent and technology support.
With a 100-year history of loquat planting, Xinqiao town now boasts a planting area that totals 667 hectares and an annual production of 2,500 tons.
