The Zigong Municipal Government and the Ruibai Group signed a project agreement in Chengdu city, Sichuan province, on June 18 to bolster the production of lithium and fine chemicals. The Ruibai Group, a leading corporation in the fields of new materials and fine chemistry, has pledged a total investment of 11.3 billion yuan ($1.6 million) in Zigong.

This initiative, located at the Southern Sichuan New Material Chemical Industrial Park, will encompass infrastructure construction and the production of green solvents and wet electronic chemicals. Once the project's first phase is completed, its annual output value is expected to reach 12 billion yuan, creating 600 new jobs.

In recent years, Zigong has advanced new types of industrialization, developing a distinctive new chemical materials industry cluster. This has been achieved through the construction of the Southern Sichuan New Material Chemical Industrial Park and the exploitation of shale gas, stated Zeng Hongyang, secretary of the Zigong Municipal Party Committee, during the contract signing ceremony.

The Ruibai Group, which has been involved in the production and sale of organic chemicals for years, views electronic chemicals as its future focus, said Zhu Bing, the group's chairman, during the ceremony. The cooperation is expected to create more jobs and propel economic development in Zigong, he added.
