Tourists flock to Zigong for Dragon Boat Festival

Zigong welcomed 325,100 tourists during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 22-24, with tickets sales at scenic spots across the city totaling 1.91 million yuan. During the holiday, some 20 cultural tourism activities featuring distinctive exhibitions, augmented reality experiences and scientific popularization were held by the Zigong Dinosaur Museum, Zigong Fantawild Dinosaur Kingdom, Zigong Salt History Museum and China Lantern Museum. A series of food festivals were also held in ancient towns and streets across the city featuring activities making traditional zongzi, a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves.
