The 3rd International Conference for the High-Quality Development of the Salt Industry was held in Zigong, Sichuan province, on Jan. 11. Serving as a platform for communication and cooperation, it aims to promote high-quality development of the salt industry and accelerate upgrading and transformation of old industries in Zigong.
During the conference, seven projects were signed, including the Sichuan (Zigong) Smart Innovation Park and the Zigong Specialty Rabbit Food Processing Project, covering areas like supply, distribution, logistics of the salt industry.
Shi Gang, deputy secretary of the CPC Zigong Municipal Committee and mayor of Zigong, spoke at the conference, highlighting Zigong's commitment to leveraging its advantages in salt resources and salt chemical industry. He stated that the city will boost the salt industry, accelerate development of new fields such as fluorosilicone materials and hydrogen energy and shift traditional salt chemical processes toward high-end, environmentally friendly, new chemical technologies.
Zigong will also promote its unique well salt by integrating culture and tourism and speed up the construction of key projects like the Fuxi River Salt Culture Corridor so as to better achieve industrial transformation and upgrading, Shi added.
