Activities held in Zigong to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival

A series of cultural and tourism activities were held in Zigong city, Sichuan province, during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period from Sept. 15 to 17. The themed activities welcomed 209,700 visitors across 15 top-rated tourist attractions.

Throughout the three-day holiday, scenic spots and commercial districts in Zigong hosted 66 cultural and tourism events, including a "Bright Moon of Mid-Autumn" folk culture promotional activity, online lantern riddle competitions and special nighttime tours showcasing traditional Chinese culture along the Fuxi River.

In addition, educational locations offered an array of activities that were a mix of science and culture. Museums organized Mid-Autumn themed tours and activities, such as museum tours that focused on aviation and dinosaurs as well as a hands-on activity that gave visitors a chance to make their own mooncakes.

Besides educational activities, various districts also organized culinary-themed festivities, including food festivals that were held in Gongjing district. Yantan district attracted crowds with a "Dragon Fruit Picking Festival," where visitors could immerse themselves in the countryside by taking part in harvesting dragon fruit and enjoying local delicacies.
