The Zigong Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment unveiled a new policy to promote low-altitude economic development while protecting the environment on Sept. 20.

The "Twelve Measures" policy, the first of its kind in Sichuan province, aims to grow the low-altitude economy by integrating ecological protection with innovative services.

The measures prioritize the development of major projects in the drone and general aviation industries in Zigong, enhancing the competitiveness of industrial clusters and driving economic growth.

City officials also reported improvements in Zigong's water and air quality. From January to August 2024, water quality at the city's 10 key national and provincial monitoring stations reached 100% excellence, up 10% from the previous year, with no cases of mild, moderate or severe pollution.
