Zigong holds AI development conference

The Zigong AI Industry Development Conference and Project Signing Ceremony were held in Da'an district, Zigong city, on Dec. 5.

The event featured keynote speeches from leading figures in the AI field. Shang Guobin, vice president of Baidu Group, delivered a speech titled "Deeply Embracing AI+ to Advance New Quality Productive Forces," while Chu Jiaxiang, vice president of Inspur Group, spoke on "Strengthening the AI Industry Chain and Fostering New Quality Productive Forces." Additionally, the Zigong AI Association and the Zigong AI Industry Development Equity Investment Fund Partnership received formal recognition through a special plaque-presenting ceremony.

During a project signing ceremony, Zigong inked 13 cooperative agreements related to AI and other industries, with a total investment of 2.2 billion yuan. These projects span diverse areas such as smart cities, low-altitude detection, distributed data storage, and intelligent agricultural and cultural tourism. These initiatives are expected to inject strong momentum into Zigong's AI development.

Currently, Zigong is accelerating the construction of a provincial-level AI innovation and development pilot zone as well as specialized industrial parks, including those for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artificial intelligence and robotics. The city has achieved significant breakthroughs in sectors such as the UAV and general aviation industry, autonomous driving vehicles, entertainment robots featuring intelligent dinosaur simulation, and medical rehabilitation robots tailored for smart elderly care.
