The 2024 Rong County Half Marathon and "Run Over Sichuan" Rong County Stop kicked off at the Giant Buddha Scenic Area in Rong county, Zigong city, on Dec. 8. The event featured a half marathon and a 5-kilometer fun run, attracting nearly 5,000 running enthusiasts.

The starting line was set at the Giant Buddha Scenic Area, with the half marathon finishing at the Citizen Fitness Center and the fun run concluding at Shaoxi Park. The course traversed multiple historical and cultural landmarks, sports-themed parks and economic development zones, connecting three administrative regions of Rong county. Runners wound their way through both historic districts and modern developments as crowds cheered them on. Organizers awarded prizes to the top 20 men and women in the half marathon.
