An industry project signing ceremony themed around new materials and modern agriculture was held in Zigong, Sichuan province, on Dec. 25. Agreements were signed for 14 projects during the event, with total investment of 6.6 billion yuan. The projects are expected to deepen upstream and downstream collaboration in Zigong's advanced materials industrial chain, fostering high-quality development in the sector.

At the ceremony, the government of Yantan district in Zigong signed agreements with three new materials companies. The projects include the construction of production lines for flow battery stacks and integrated pipeline electrical systems, an annual production of 10,000 metric tons of deformable polymer composite materials, and a 2 GW vanadium flow energy storage industrial chain, which will further enhance the industrial ecosystem in the district.

Additionally, the government of Yantan district signed agreements for other initiatives, including the smart husbandry of rabbits and the annual production of 2,000 intelligent computing servers. Leveraging its advantages in grain production, such as soybeans, the district also reached agreements with several enterprises to collaborate on breeding and demonstrating new varieties of crops including soybeans, corn and rice. The partnerships will focus on integrating new technologies, cultivating high-quality seeds, and enhancing seed processing.

Zigong, a pioneer in industrial transformation and upgrading, has made significant progress this year in fostering four key industries: energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy, new materials, and UAVs and general aviation. Furthermore, it has made breakthroughs in various emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence, electronic information and health care.
