Zigong launched 180 key development projects, with a total investment of 50.48 billion yuan ($7 billion), at a launch ceremony on Feb. 13, marking an ambitious first-quarter initiative spanning industrial modernization, urban infrastructure and public welfare improvements.
The industrial sector leads the investment drive with 102 projects totaling 31.86 billion yuan, covering fields such as drones, new materials and modern agriculture. In addition, a total of 9.54 billion yuan will be invested on 45 infrastructure projects aimed at alleviating traffic bottlenecks and strengthening urban resilience.
Another 7.03 billion yuan will fund 30 public welfare projects designed to enhance community services and living standards.
A centerpiece of the industrial initiative is a national production headquarters for drone and aviation components. The facility will establish Zigong's first drone patrol craft manufacturing and precision aviation component processing center, strengthening the city's competitive position in China's low-altitude economy.
