Zigong showcased cutting-edge technologies and cultural innovations at the 20th Western China International Fair (WCIF), which opened in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on May 25. Spanning 1,200 square meters, the Zigong Pavilion brought together more than 60 companies and over 130 exhibits, spotlighting the city's dynamic strengths in new energy, advanced materials, artificial intelligence, cultural creativity and the low-altitude economy.

Among the highlights were innovations in new energy and low-altitude aviation. Volant Aerotech's VE25-100 eVTOL aircraft drew attention for its advanced compound-wing design, enabling a range of 400 kilometers and cruising speed of 235 km/h. It is currently the world's largest manned eVTOL by maximum takeoff weight, with a spacious cabin optimized for urban air mobility and emergency response applications.

In the new energy sector, Zonergy showcased its sodium-ion battery series, designed for energy storage and specialized vehicles, underscoring Zigong's growing leadership in sustainable energy technologies.

In the sector of AI-driven solutions, Zelostech presented its L4-level autonomous delivery vehicle, which has already been deployed in over 200 cities across China. With advanced sensors and all-weather operational capabilities, the vehicle supports unmanned logistics services. Sichuan Central Inspection Technology Inc. demonstrated intelligent inspection robots capable of replacing manual labor in hazardous environments, such as tunnel and bridge inspections.

At the Robosen Robotics booth, children were captivated by the company's interactive intelligent robots. "By leveraging industry-leading software and hardware, Robosen has launched multiple smart robot products that deeply integrate technology with user experience," said Pu Hualin, the company's regional manager for West China.

In the cultural and creative sector, Haitian Lantern impressed visitors with its "Cyber Cool Girl" themed lantern installation — a fusion of cyber aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship, featuring 12 hanging lanterns inspired by various countries. Traditional crafts like tie-dye silk scarves and Gong fan-style folding screens were reimagined with modern design elements, drawing enthusiastic crowds.

Zigong also demonstrated its strong capabilities in advanced materials and green technologies. Zhonghao Chenguang, China's second-largest producer of polytetrafluoroethylene resin, presented materials widely used in aerospace and precision industries. Meanwhile, Zigong Cemented Carbide (ZGCC) highlighted its precision components known for exceptional wear and corrosion resistance.

In 2024, Zigong's overseas lantern exhibitions reached 23 countries, generating $77.46 million in cultural export volume. Meanwhile, its aviation industrial park has attracted more than 60 drone enterprises, whose products are used in emergency response and meteorological monitoring, with an annual output value exceeding 6 billion yuan.

Zigong's presence at this year's WCIF reflects its fast-rising status as a hub of industrial diversity, technological innovation and cultural export in western China.
