Zigong welcomes over 1m visitors during National Day and Mid-Autumn holiday

During the 2025 National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Oct 1-8, Zigong experienced a significant tourism surge under the theme "Marvelous Zigong: Exploring the Land of Dinosaurs." The city hosted more than 120 themed cultural and tourism events, drawing 1.02 million visitors to its A-level tourism areas — a year-on-year increase of 43.67%. Overall, Zigong attracted 3.48 million visitors during the holiday period, generating total tourism revenue of 1.84 billion yuan. These figures represent respective increases of 22.17% and 13.10% compared with the previous year.

A key highlight was the Fourth Zigong International Dinosaur Culture Tourism Festival, which featured the global debut of intelligent bionic dinosaur robots, including both bipedal and quadrupedal models. The festival's grand Dinosaur Parade, held at Huashang International Mall and Fushun county, showcased six themed formations that entertained over 90,000 spectators. Meanwhile, Fantawild Dinosaur Kingdom saw over 121,200 visitors engage with its "Dino Carnival"  interactive events.


The revitalized Ziliujing Old Street emerged as a major attraction, welcoming 208,200 visitors through events such as a folk music festival, public art exhibitions and Salt Charm River Lantern Blessings. The district recorded operating revenue of 3.29 million yuan during the holiday.
