
The 2025 China Lure Kayak Fishing Open Qualifier and the Sichuan Provincial Fishing Championship Points Competition (Zigong Da'an Qinglong Lake Station) commenced in Zigong, drawing 150 fishing enthusiasts from across the country.
Two competitions ran simultaneously at the event. In the Lure Kayak Fishing Open Qualifier, participants paddled non-motorized kayaks within designated areas to fish for bass and culter species. Rankings were determined by the total length of their catches. In the championship points competition, contestants used 4.5-meter hand rods from designated shore areas. The final results were based on the total weight of the fish caught.
After intense competition, the top eight anglers were selected in the Lure Kayak Fishing Open Qualifier, while the top 20 competitors were named in the championship points competition.
Organizers noted that the dual-format model, featuring both kayak lure fishing and traditional hand-rod fishing within the same venue was designed to accommodate different groups of anglers and support a variety of fishing scenarios.
