A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Yantan district, Zigong, on Dec. 18 to commence eight major industrial projects as part of its fourth-quarter 2025 industrial development drive. With a combined investment of 3.8 billion yuan, the projects span key sectors including fluorosilicon new materials, new energy materials, green and low-carbon industries and advanced food processing.
Among the newly launched projects, the 2,000-ton-per-day rolled glass project of Triumph (Zigong) New Energy Co., Ltd. and the nano carbon materials project of Zigong Hanxing Dongheng Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. are expected to position Yantan as the largest photovoltaic glass production base in southwest China. It will also become the country's largest production hub for single-walled carbon nanotubes.
In addition, projects such as the battery-grade lithium iron phosphate resource recycling and preparation project by Sichuan Jinghe Renewable Environmental Protection Co., Ltd., and the 48,000-ton-per-year new energy conductive materials project with integrated tail-gas utilization by Zigong Hanxing Dongheng Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., will further enhance the industrial park's green, circular and low-carbon development capacity.
The food industry is also set to benefit, with the launch of a 15,000-ton-per-year soybean products project by Zigong Hongshun Food Co., Ltd. and a 1,500-ton-per-year meat products deep-processing project by Sichuan Jinyao Food Co., Ltd., strengthening the district's advanced food processing sector.
Once all eight projects reach full operation, they are expected to generate an estimated annual output value of around 9.8 billion yuan. They will generate more than 2,000 jobs, injecting strong momentum into Yantan district's industrial development.
