The second edition of the Bashu Cultural and Tourism Corridor Industry Alliance Conference opened in Zigong city, Sichuan province, on May 14. The event brought together government officials, industry associations, leading tourism enterprises, financial institutions and young entrepreneurs from Sichuan and Chongqing to advance regional cultural and tourism integration.

Held under the theme "Linking Sichuan and Chongqing, Empowering Culture and Tourism, and Embarking on a New Journey," the conference focused on strengthening industrial cooperation, promoting cross-sector integration and exploring new pathways for high-quality cultural and tourism development across the region.
Organizers said the Bashu Cultural and Tourism Corridor Industry Alliance, established in February last year in Chongqing, has helped drive the corridor's development from initial coordination toward higher-level integrated growth.
This year's conference further consolidated resources from major state-owned enterprises, including the Sichuan Tourism Investment Group and the Chongqing Cultural Tourism Group, aiming to build a high-level cooperation platform featuring government-business matchmaking, industrial collaboration, supply-demand integration and regional brand promotion.

At the event, organizers unveiled the "Top 10 Achievements" made by the Sichuan Tourism Investment Group and the Chongqing Cultural Tourism Group in promoting the Bashu Cultural and Tourism Corridor, along with eight key development plans for 2026.

A series of cooperation agreements on Bashu cultural tourism projects were also signed during the conference.
In addition to the main forum, the event will host the first Bashu Cultural and Tourism Industry Expo and the inaugural Bashu Music and Light Art Festival. Supporting activities such as markets serving Bashu-style food and exhibitions presenting Sichuan-Chongqing intangible cultural heritage and creative products will continue through the end of August.

During the conference, organizers also released a range of new initiatives and tourism products, including a standardized system for Sichuan-Chongqing study-tour programs, themed tourism routes in Zigong, new Yangtze River Three Gorges travel experiences, and practical plans for building high-quality outdoor sports destinations in the region.
The organizers stated that the initiatives are designed to further stimulate cultural and tourism consumption through standardized development and the creation of new festival and tourism brands.
